A deeper and longer-lasting way to make your New Year’s resolution come true!

We will begin with a short sequence of yoga poses to settle the body, followed by a guided body-based meditation (seated or lying down). We will work with our intention for the New Year during deep relaxatioin.

Open to all. No experience of yoga necessary and everyone can be accommodated.

Kelly Birch, PYT, RYT-500, is an advanced-level iRest® teacher, a long-time yoga instructor, and a certified yoga therapist. She is known for her clear instructions and her warm and friendly teaching style, as well as her relaxing and soothing voice.

Kelly is also the editor in chief of Yoga Therapy Today, a publication of the International Association of Yoga Therapists.

In preparation for incorporating the Eight Limbs of Yoga into her weekly classes, Vrnda will give an overview of the 2nd chapter of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. This study encompasses a broader understanding of the role asana plays in the 8-fold system of Yoga in support of re-establishing our relationship with the Divine. Some asana practice will be included.

Integrate Hakomi (body-centered therapy) with mindfulness and yoga for powerful transformation. Yoga practitioners and teachers will learn how to work with emotions arising in practice; therapists will discover ways to access the wisdom of the body for healing.
Donna Martin, MA, author of several books, has been a yoga teacher since 1970 and a Hakomi therapist and international trainer since 1996.

This asana practice for menopausal years addresses changes in a woman's body and psyche, and offers support for issues women face at this time of life. Practice poses to maintain strong bones with weight bearing poses, alleviate stiffness, cool off during hot flashes, restore glandular balance with inversions, and soothe the nerves with breath work.

Together the Immersion and Teacher Training modules meet the requirements of the Yoga Alliance 200 hr. registration.

The Immersion offers in 100 hours over 6 weekends (1 per month) a foundation in the Anusara Unversal Principles of Alignment (UPA) in asana, exploration of classical and Tantric yoga philosophy, introductory anatomy, study of the the Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita, and development of studentship and community on the path of Yoga. The basic schedule for each weekend is
6-9 pm Friday, 9 – 6 Saturday, and 10 – 5:30 Sunday.
Prerequisite: 30 hours of Anusara Yoga practice with a Certified or Inspired Anusara Yoga Instructor.

The Anusara Teacher Training (100 hrs) builds upon the foundation of the Immersion with a focus on applied teaching skills and techniques: teaching with UPA’s, sequencing, creating heartfelt, meaningful themes for practice, therapeutics and hands on adjustments, and actual teaching. We continue to develop and understand the deepest meaning of yoga through contemplation and study. Prerequisite: Completion of an Anusara Immersion.
